Manage communities with Hollaroo

Maidenhead, 2nd March, 2022 – Hollaroo, a leading provider of Talent Community Engagement Platforms has just announced that campaign group, 10,000 Black Interns has implemented Hollaroo Engage to support their 10,000 interns over the next five years.

The solution went live today to coincide with the launch of their first cohort of internships in 2022.

The #10000BlackInterns initiative has been designed to help transform the horizons and prospects of young Black people in the United Kingdom. The 10000 Black Interns programme will offer paid work experience across a wide range of sectors, providing training and development opportunities and creating a sustainable cycle of mentorship and sponsorship for the Black community.

A progression from the #100BlackInterns initiative, the aim is to deliver 10000 internships over a period of 5 years, therefore 2000 per year. The first wave will start their internships in the summer of 2022, and registration started in mid-2021.

When online training started to be delivered to some candidates, it exposed some issues with the organisation and engagement with trainees – hence the requirement for an engagement tool and an urgency on delivery.

With a strong focus on candidate engagement, both during the programme and for the programmes alumni, 10,000 Black Interns main requirement was to find a platform with which they could both build a community and create long term engagement.  This needed to be easily managed and yet highly effective.

Esther Odejimi-Uzokwe, Programme Director for 10,000 BlackInterns said “We were looking for a platform that could both support our current interns through their training programme, as well as create a community for them – for the now and as they progress in their careers as alumni of the programme.  We needed to get this right first time and get the platform up and running relatively quickly, as we move to start registering Interns ready for the first cohort starting in 2022. That’s why we opted for Hollaroo. The team there could implement the system rapidly, yet create the kind of bespoke and special community that we know we needed.”

When they went to market to look for the right solution, 10,000 Black Interns elected to work with Hollaroo because of its many years of experience in building communities. With a strong focus on communities for people and talent functions.

The Hollaroo platform is designed to enable organisations to build and maintain relationships with communities of people over long periods of time. The platform uses social networking concepts but with the levels of security, control and flexibility required by enterprise clients.

In all deployments, the client has complete ownership of content, data and the user experience. Originally deployed to support recruitment activities, the use of the Hollaroo platform has expanded into wider HR, learning and business communities.

The learning solution is designed to support people from initial interest to post-training.  And this is exactly what 10,000 Black Interns was looking for.

Hugh Fordham, CEO of Hollaroo said, “Our aim is to support the fantastic, yet necessary, 10,000 Black Interns initiative on their ambitious journey to provide 10,000 internships with firms across 24 different sectors, in a range of internal business functions. We are proud to support a campaign that presents the opportunity to change lives. Building a community to create long term relationships and training of the interns will support the leaders of tomorrow, today.”

About Hollaroo

Hollaroo provides a paradigm shift in the way that we recruit, onboard, train, and nurture our people. Because we support those within businesses and organisations to engage, communicate, and share – wherever they are. And to do it authentically.

We’re a layer that wraps around your people across every stage of your business. From initial interest and engagement, to connection, recruitment and application, offer, onboarding, training and development, nurture, and even alumni communications. We’re proud to transform relationships across your entire talent journey.

And we’re changing the face of recruitment solutions, no longer allowing them to be driven by the wants of the business rather than the needs of the candidate. We’re ensuring our clients aren’t missing out on the brightest and best talent. We’re helping them appeal to the modern applicant, who wants transparency and integrity. And we’re providing commercial value at every touchpoint.

Our solution impacts positively on employees’ length of service, engagement and satisfaction, connection to a brand or business, and even to training outputs. It can reduce bad hires, speed up onboarding, and cut attrition rates. Most powerfully though, it leads to an (often huge) reduction in recruitment fees because it empowers referrals from your own team.
